Zayed Khan making a Comeback in DESI MAGIC
Zayed Khan has been in the industry for a decade, but has failed to make a mark for himself. He has acted in 16 films yet only four films have done well, in which he played supporting characters. Zayed made his acting debut as a lead role in Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne oppisite Esha Deol, the film was a critical failure, and was a box office washout. Zayed received mixed reviews from critics. In 2004, he acted in a supporting role in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Main Hoon Na, the film was a super-hit and Zayed became popular. In 2005, he acted in Dus, which also was a huge hit, and received critical accailm. However, his next three movies, Shabd, Shaadi N.1, and Vaada despite receiving critical accailm, failed to do well at the box office. Despite this failures, Zayed was declared one of the upcoming super-stars. However, soon after, Zayed’s career went into decline. In 2006, Zayed starred as the lead role in Rocky, the film was critical and commercial disaster. In the same year he starred in the multistarrer Fight Club, the film failed critically and commercially. In 2007, he starred in two multi starrer films Speed and Cash both which proved to be box office disappointments, and received overwhemigly negative reviews from critics. 2008, proved to be another disaster year for Zayed, Mission Istanbul, was a box office washout, and critics called it one of the worst films ever made. His next release Yuvaaraj also unexpectdly failed misrabley at the box office. In 2009, he starred in Blue, the film was a commercial flop. He starred in Anjaana Anjaani in 2010, the film was successful, but since of small amount of screen time, Zayed went unnoticed. He attempted a lead role in 2011, with Love Breakups Zindagi, the film performed poorly at the box office, and was declared a flop. He had a supporting role in the 2012 action film Tezz, the film received poor reviews from critics and bombed at the box office. Zayed’s career hit such a low by 2013, that he has received very little film offers, most of them offering him to play a supporting character. Recently Ameesha Patel has signed Zayed Khan in her film Desi Magic, however it is unclear whether he is playing a leading role or a supporting role. He has a delayed film Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene, which is yet to release. Zayed, who had the chance to be one of the next superstar, blew it by signing the wrong films, and being steamed in controversy. Lets hope he makes a successful comeback. Because I think he has the potential.
